Platoon Mates encounter at Iluma & Late Night happenings on 10/11

Morning wake up, not feeling tired even though I slept for 6 hours.
Probably enough of sleep in bunk for the past 3 days?
Facebook and MapleSEA.
For MapleSEA, I just need train 2 characters from Level 10 and 13 to Level 15.
Level 15 = can fame characters
After which, I wait for Peter's call.
Some random shots before I left the house. Testing how long the handphone battery can last since I felt that there may be a problem with it.

At least it is not as swollen as it looks like last week.

Random shot - Half-filled bottle of star
(Birthday gift from someone during Secondary School [2005] @_@)

Shoo! No money inside
(Birthday gift from someone on Post-Polytechnic [2009])

Ok, battery still full. Out for lunch with Peter at NP2.
3.30pm, I left for Bugis.
Holy shit... handphone so fast no battery. Sian to max.
Bought a new battery to test whether if my current battery has worn out.
At first, I went to Singtel shop at Bugis Junction... but no stock.
Instead, I went to Bugis Street. Of course, sure pirated. Bobian.
Then I headed to Iluma.
Errr, Platoon Mates at Arcadia. lol?
Johan & Ming Hui.
At that time, I wasn't playing.
When I started to touch the Taiko12 machine, they watched from my back. O_O"

Bleh, time for me to proceed to JP.
Arrived at about 6.50pm.
Dinner at JP1 Foodcourt, then buy small stuff from Fairprice Xtra.
By then, already 7.55pm.
The time... is based on the wallclock at Subway. =X
5 minutes before Jenny knock off from work.
But the queue is like... never ending.
Lost track how long I waited.
By the time she came out... the time: 9pm

Another moment of Arcade gaming.
Proceed back to Subway again, camping about an hour?
By right, I cannot enter... but "sneaked" in.
Si Jenny want me run from JP1 to Boon Lay MRT in 3 minutes. =.="
Going home by Taxi to Jurong East MRT since the last train from Boon Lay... zhao liao when we reached the Taxi Stand.
To the Taxi Stand and boarded the taxi with her.
Drop off Jenny near her house first, then I continue my journey to the MRT station.
Back home, I saw this thread in AsiasoftSEA Forums.
Taken from a thread in AsiasoftSEA Forums
Dear forumites,

With effect from 11th November 2009 2359HRS (+8 GMT), I will halt my duties as a forum moderator as I will need to concentrate more in my studies and move on with my life.

I will like to thank those who had supported me along the way and helped out in serving the Asiasoft Forum Community.

To those who have always been harassing me all these while:
I guess you've got what you want.

Sigh, well... that's his decision.
That's all for this post. Booking in time... less than 10 hours time from now. >.<"

Imageshack Hacked on 10/7

(Click to view full size image)

Popular image hosting service ImageShack was hacked Friday evening (July 10) by a group calling itself Anti-Sec.

The Imageshack hack saw all images hosted on the service replaced by an image that detailed Anti-Sec’s manifesto. The group also distributed a copy of their manifesto to Imageshack’s users via the same email facility used to update Imageshack users with site updates and news.

Anti-Sec is calling on the security industry to stop the practice of full disclosure, the practice of publicly making available exploits and security vulnerabilities. According to the group, full disclosure is a scam that helps security companies sell software such as firewalls and anti-virus tools as the published exploits can and are used by script kiddies; that is the companies are purposely empowering those doing the wrong thing so as to create more fear and exploits as part of driving business for services that offer protection against these things.

There’s no official word from ImageShack yet as to when the service may return to normal, although at the time of writing parts of the site would appear to be working. Anti-Sec suggests in their manifesto that images on ImageShack have not been deleted.

Singapore confirms three more H1N1 flu cases

28 May 2009
SINGAPORE: Singapore on Thursday confirmed three more cases of Influenza A (H1N1), bringing the number of infected persons in the country to four.

A day earlier, Singapore confirmed its first case of A(H1N1) flu, in a 22-year-old female Singapore Management University (SMU) student who recently returned to the city-state from New York.

The second confirmed case is a 43-year-old Singapore Permanent Resident who returned to Singapore from San Francisco via Manila on Tuesday (May 26) at 1750 hours.

She was on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 917 and was seated at 33H. She became unwell while on board.

The third confirmed case is a 28-year-old American woman working in Singapore. She returned to Singapore from Honolulu via Tokyo on Tuesday (May 26) at 2353 hours, on United Airlines flight UA 803. She was seated at 33C and became unwell on May 26.

The fourth confirmed case is a 28-year-old Singaporean man who returned to Singapore from Chicago via Hong Kong on May 25 at 0036 hours. He was on United Airlines flight UA 895 and was seated at 55H. He became unwell on May 25.

The patients are currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).

In a statement, the Health Ministry said their symptoms are relatively mild and all the patients are in stable condition.

Contact tracing of their close contacts, including passengers on the same flights, is ongoing. They will be quarantined and provided with antiviral prophylaxis.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that passengers within three rows in front and behind the cases who have not been contacted by the ministry yet should call the MOH hotline at 1800-333-9999.

The affected rows for SQ 917 are 30-36; for UA 803 are rows 30-36 and for UA 895 are rows 52-58.

The Health Ministry has reminded those who have travelled in the preceding 7 days to affected countries to seek immediate medical attention once they develop influenza-like symptoms, and call 993 for an ambulance. This, it said, will help minimise the risk of infecting those around them.

Meanwhile, the MOH has also reminded all medical practitioners and healthcare institutions to continue to be vigilant for suspect cases.

Singapore confirms first swine flu case: 22-year-old woman

Here is the text of the ministry's statement:

  1. Singapore has confirmed its first case of Influenza A (H1N1-2009). The patient is currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and is in stable condition.

  2. The patient is a 22 year-old Singaporean female who was in New York from May 14- 24. She arrived back in Singapore from New York on SQ25 (Seated at Row 55) on 26 May at 06.30hrs. She began to develop a cough while onboard. She passed the thermal scanner uneventfully as she did not have fever then. Later in the morning, she consulted a GP who decided to send her to TTSH via a 993 ambulance, given her travel history. She was immediately admitted for testing. Laboratory confirmation of her infection was made by midnight of 26 May.

  3. The patient has been vigilant in monitoring her own condition and had sought immediate medical attention once she realized that she was unwell. Her attending GP, through his quick response in activating the 993 ambulance for the patient, had also helped to minimize the spread of infection from this case.

  4. We have initiated contact tracing of her close contacts. They will be quarantined and provided with antiviral prophylaxis. Passengers who had travelled in the same flight and were seated in rows 52 to 58 are urged to call the hotline at 1800- 333 9999 to enable us to check on their health condition.

Enhanced vigilance

  1. The Ministry has reminded all medical practitioners and healthcare institutions to continue to be vigilant to suspect cases. We will continue with temperature screening for passengers entering Singapore at all checkpoints (land, sea and air). All passengers passing through or entering Singapore are given Health Alert Notices on board their flights, advising them to monitor their own health if they have been to affected areas and to seek medical attention immediately if they are not well.

Advice from MOH

  1. Singaporeans are reminded to maintain high standards of personal hygiene. This means covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you sneeze or cough, and washing your hand frequently with soap and water, especially after contact with respiratory secretions (e.g., after sneezing and coughing). We also need the cooperation of everyone to be socially responsible. This means staying home and avoiding crowded places (including trains, buses, offices), putting on a surgical mask and seeing a doctor if you have flu symptoms. MOH advises those who travelled to affected areas to closely monitor their health and seek treatment as soon as possible should they develop symptoms.

  2. Members of the public are advised to exercise caution over travel to affected areas. In the event that travel is unavoidable, the public is advised to take precautionary measures such as avoiding crowded areas and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene at all times. However, iff you are unwell with fever and cough but have no travel history to affected areas, please see a doctor and stay at home.

  3. MOH is monitoring the situation closely and will update the public should there be any new developments. For more information on Influenza A (H1N1-2009), please access MOH’s website at www.moh.gov.sg, call our hotline at 1800-333 9999, or visit www.flu.gov.sg.

Mas Selamat captured

Singapore's JI leader Mas Selamat arrested in Malaysia

SINGAPORE: Mas Selamat Kastari, Singapore's Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) leader who escaped from Whitley Road Detention Centre on February 27 last year, has been arrested.

The terrorist, who once plotted to hijack a plane and crash it into Changi Airport, was arrested in Malaysia in a joint intelligence operation involving the internal security agencies of the two countries.

It is understood that Mas Selamat was actually arrested over a month ago but had been under interrogation in Malaysia.

It is believed that the fugitive will soon be brought back to Singapore.

Last December, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had said: "He is one up on us, but the game is not over. One day we will catch him."

Most security experts had expected the fugitive to head for Indonesia, where other JI members are believed to be based. So, it came as a surprise to some that he was arrested in Malaysia.

Mas Selamat gave his guards the slip while he was being taken to the toilet at the detention centre.

The escape sparked the largest manhunt in Singapore's history. Thousands of police and military personnel were roped in to comb the island for the fugitive. Checks at the borders were stepped up, road blocks were set up, officers went house to house, and forested areas were swept.

There were also offers of a million dollar reward by two businessmen for his capture.

Mas Selamat, however, remained elusive although dozens of illegal immigrants were flushed out. Posters bearing his face and description were put up everywhere and every mobile phone here was sent either a text description or a picture of him.

Mas Selamat's escape also resulted in the dismissal of the detention centre's superintendent over security lapses. The superintendent's deputy was demoted.

The two were the most senior officers in charge of the ground management of the detention centre, and were among six Internal Security Department (ISD) officers charged over the escape.

Mas Selamat fled Singapore in December 2001 following an Internal Security Department operation against the terrorist organisation.

The militant leader had been on the run after Singapore authorities discovered plans to crash seven trucks filled with bombs at various locations around the island.

Investigations also revealed that he was the mastermind behind a plan to hijack an airplane and crash it into Changi airport.

Mas Selamat was arrested by the Indonesian police on Bintan island in January 2006. He was detained for using a fake identity card.

When he was arrested, officers found literature on bomb-making on him. Based on investigations then, Indonesia's elite anti-terror police then discovered he was the leader of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah network.

They then deported him to Singapore, where he was detained at Whitley Road Detention Centre under the Internal Security Act.

The 48-year-old father of four was said to be involved in JI's plans to mount attacks against foreign and local establishments in Singapore.

These included the US Embassy and American Club, the Defence Ministry headquarters at Bukit Gombak and the Education Ministry building at North Buona Vista Drive. - CNA/TODAY/de
